I am still rating myself about the same as before, Spiritual a 7 there is always room to grow, psychological around a 6 and physical 6. I am aware of some of the things I would like to work on, it is difficult though to get everything done in a day as being a full time case manager, mom, wife, and student. I have the ideas of how I would like to start exercising more. In fact, I have contacted a friend of mine to see if she would not mind budding up to walk early in the mornings. So though it does not look like I have changed much, mentally I am working on it. That has to be one of the first places to start because if the desire is not there than nothing else will follow.
Spiritually, I have daily devotionals that are e-mailed to me so I read them before I log into class or other things on my computer which has helped. I am also taking the time to meditate on Gods word a bit longer than I did before.
I am more aware of my thoughts and I can let some of them go but others I believe have more meaning and I am getting good at having a dialogue with myself :). I am able to not respond as fast and if I did say something the wrong way, I notice it quickly and am able to retract that statement. I enjoy giving to others but I have to be able to give to myself first and that is for me much harder to do.
Thank you all for being such a great class!!
Morning Glory

Unit 8 Blog
I just have to say that it seems like the weeks are in slow motion while they just fly by at the same time. I hope that makes since to you, if not sorry it does to me :)
The two practice sessions I like the most would be the 1) loving kindness and 2) forgiveness. First of all I would like to say that Love is the most important of all of these. We were loved by God who sent his Son here for us. He ask us to love others as we love ourselves and to be kind to one another. However, it is just as important that we forgive too. God forgives us all of the time. To me theses two principles go hand in hand. I do believe in you get what you sew, meaning if you are hateful towards someone then that will in turn happen to you. Often times we are so quick to point the finger at someone else when all along we should be looking at ourselves in the mirror and pointing the finger at me. I am sure you have heard this but as a child I remember learning if I point one finger at you, then I have 3 pointing back at me. This can be very difficult in certain situations. It is important to remember that just because you went through a tragic experience and you have forgiven them does not mean you need to be that persons best friend all over again. It just means that your life will be lived to the fullest without having the disease of anger and hatred built up.

Unit 7 blog,
The track # 4 was nice. We have had a lot of information of how we can incorporate integral health into our lives. I just feel that one step at a time is good enough for me. I feel that I am still way back from the beginning of the class with recognizing my thoughts and why I am thinking the way I do. I know professor is always saying progress and not perfection so that is where I am at. I feel that if you ask to much at one time, they can get overwhelmed and quit all together. I understand for this class, we have to be introduced to each concept but once done, I will continue to grow. I am sure it is a slow process but plan to continue to work towards it.
I agree with the statement, "One cannot lead another where one has not gone himself” (P.477). I believe that is why we have such diversity. Not everyone can experience the same thing every day. I believe that the world we be a very dull place to live. I feel that God has put us here for each other. What I have experienced in my life may help a married couple in crisis but could mean nothing to a couple who is not going through any trouble.
I have been in the nursing field for 16 years now, yes that is a while and no I am not old :), but one of the things I have always wanted my patients to feel from me is peace and comfort. I believe a gentle smile is very important. I feel that is a piece of nursing that has been forgotten about or maybe overlooked. In return, when I have been in the hospital having my children, I had a few nurses who were able to do the same for me. As I continue to grow spiritually and psychologically, I will be able to have more of an impact on the care provided to patients and to staff.

Unit 6
The universal Loving Kindness exercises was good for the first few minutes, I could not go the full 10 minutes though. I found myself watching the clock and my mind began to wonder. I do like this because this could be wrote on a note card and kept in the car, at my desk at work, as a reminder in my phone; basically anywhere. The more I say this, the less awkward it is.
In the Integral Assessment, I found that I need work in all areas. It is good to know that I have time to improve each area. Granted they feed off of each other but trying to work on all aspects can be overwhelming. By me choosing an area that is in need more than another, I can work on a slow but progressing path to integral health.

Unit 5 blog
Ok, I just have to say we are half way there!!!
1.Compare and contrast the Loving Kindness exercise and the Subtle mind exercise. Explain your experience including the benefits, frustrations etc.
I liked both of the tracks, they are very relaxing. I often have found my mind running on me and I have had to stop it. However, I have came up with some really good ideas with my running. I believe the difference for me is allowing the silliness to continue.
2. Discuss the connection of the spiritual wellness to mental and physical wellness. Explain how the connection is manifested in your personal life.
For me, I can heard God when I dont have the radio going, the TV on, or any other thing might be distracting. He always speaks, it is just a matter if we are able to tune everything out and hear his voice. He will never scream or yell at me to get his attention. So for me actually having a quieter mind allows for God to talk to me and I to him which that is all he wants from us, a relationship. I do enjoy listening to christian music espically christian rap. They have came a long way! For me, it is where my mind is set, if I focus on God, then the other problems of life do not seem so bad.
For those who do like this type of music, try looking up Lecrae, Pro, K Drama (pretty good stuff!!!)

Unit 4 blog
1. Describe your experience. (Did you find it beneficial? Difficult?) Why or Why not? Would you recommend this to others? Why or Why not?
I thought the first session was very relaxing and it made me think about extending out to help others. I really liked when we were asked to think of someone who is hurting and to breath in their suffering and exhale life to them. This exercise became quite difficult though when there was a group to do this to. I believe you would have to be much stronger mentally to help a group in this manner.
The second one was also nice, for me I need to take one thing at a time.
2. What is the concept of “Mental Workout? What does the research indicate are the proven benefits of a Mental Work Out? How can you implement mental workouts to foster your psychological health?
I think a mental workout is very important for our lives. If we do not exercise our mind than that reflect in our everyday lives. With out "workouts" then our minds become like sludge. I believe what we take in grows in our minds, is harvested in our hearts and then it flows out of our mouths. It is unnatural for us to think positive all of the time, it is a continual growth that we have to do.
